Easy Natural DIY Dishwasher Tabs

This recipe is a modification one that I found on Pinterest. I have tested different measurements and ingredients, but have found that this recipe works the best for us. I have been using this recipe now for some time and will never go back to store bought dish tabs again. These tabs are so easy to make and work so well to keep our dishes clean. The best part is that they are natural, clean and smell amazing too!

Ingredients:

1/4 cup citric acid

1/8 cup salt

1 cup washing (baking) soda

1-2 tsp Thieves All Purpose Cleaner

5-10 drops Young Living Lemon Essential Oil (you could also use citrus, orange, or tangerine but do your research on the benefits of each)

1. Mix dry ingredients together in a bowl.

2. Add 1 tsp of Thieves All Purpose Cleaner one drop at a time stirring constantly, and then add 5 drops of the lemon oil one drop at a time. Stir until mixture resembles the texture of soft damp sand. (If necessary add up to 1 additional tsp of cleaner, and up to 5 more drops of essential oil to the mixture if necessary to get the right consistency for the mixture).

3. Press the mixture into large ice trays or silicone molds and leave until mixture has become hard before removing (usually 6-12 hours).

This recipe yields appx 12-24 tabs depending on the size of your mold.
